The Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB) is one of Southern Europe’s leading conference and event venues, offering nearly 100,000 m² of flexible space.

Located in Barcelona’s modern Diagonal Mar seafront district, the CCIB is just 15 minutes from the historic city centre. It is exceptionally well connected by metro, tram, bus and major roadways, with many hotels within walking distance.

The venue consists of two landmark buildings, the Convention Centre and the Forum Auditorium, connected by an underground passage. Together they offer a 3,000 seat auditorium, expansive exhibition halls and over 40 meeting rooms suitable for events of all sizes. Set beside the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by dining, shopping and leisure options, the CCIB combines world-class facilities with a vibrant coastal setting.

Where to Stay in Barcelona

When attending the European Microsoft Fabric + SQL Community Conference in Barcelona, you’ll find a wide range of accommodation options to suit different preferences and budgets. We have a room block reserved at Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona from 27 September to 1 October 2026, offering attendees a preferred group rate. The hotel is located close to the conference venue and provides modern amenities and comfortable accommodation.

BCN Airport

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) is located around 20 km from the CCIB.

By Train & Metro: 
From the airport, take the R2 Nord commuter train from Terminal 2 (a free shuttle runs from T1 to T2 if required) to Barcelona-Sants Station. From there, take Metro L5 (blue line) towards Vall d’Hebron, change at Verdaguer to Metro L4 (yellow line) towards La Pau, and exit at El Maresme | Fòrum station. The CCIB is a 5-minute walk from the station. Total journey time is approximately 50 minutes.

By Tram: 
Take Metro L9 Sud from either terminal towards Zona Universitària. Change at Torrassa to Metro L1 (red line) towards Fondo, then change at Glòries to Tram T4 towards Sant Adrià. Get off at Fòrum stop, located directly in front of the CCIB Auditorium. Total travel time is about 1 hour.

By Taxi: 
Taxis are available outside both terminals. The journey to the CCIB takes around 20–30 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis can drop you near Plaça de Willy Brandt or directly by the Forum Auditorium.

By Bus: 
Take the Aerobús from the airport to Plaça Catalunya, then continue by Bus H16 or Metro L4 to El Maresme | Fòrum. Total travel time is approximately 1 hour.

By Public Transport

The CCIB is well connected to the rest of Barcelona by an efficient and reliable public transport network, making it easy to reach the venue from the city centre and surrounding areas. Metro, bus, and tram services run frequently throughout the day, with stops located just a short walk from the venue. Below you’ll find guidance on the most convenient public transport options for travelling to the CCIB, helping you plan your journey and arrive smoothly at the conference.

 

From the City Centre:
From Plaça de Catalunya or Passeig de Gràcia, take Metro L1 (red line) or L3 (green line) to connect with Metro L4 (yellow line). Travel towards La Pau and exit at El Maresme | Fòrum. The venue is a short walk via Rambla Prim. Total travel time is around 20 minutes from Plaça de Catalunya.

Several city buses also serve the area, including H16 and Line 7. The “Fòrum” stop is located beside the CCIB Auditorium.

Tickets can be purchased on board or using a T-Casual card. Services run frequently, with night buses available.

By Car

The CCIB is easily accessible by car from both the airport and the city centre, with clear road signage and direct routes via Barcelona’s main road network.

 

From the Airport:
The CCIB is located approximately 20 km from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport, with a typical driving time of 20–25 minutes. Take the C-31 motorway towards Barcelona, then continue along Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes or Avinguda Diagonal, following signs for Fòrum or Diagonal Mar. Access to the venue is easiest via Avinguda Diagonal or Taulat Street.

 

From the City Centre:
From Plaça de Catalunya or central districts, drive east along Avinguda Diagonal towards the seafront and follow signs for Fòrum or Diagonal Mar. The journey usually takes 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.

 

Parking Information 
Public parking is available nearby, including large underground car parks close to Plaça de Willy Brandt and the Diagonal Mar shopping centre. Parking is paid hourly, with day passes available.

Ticket Page

There are 4 day and 3 day tickets available. 3 day tickets give you access to all conference sessions (29th Sep-1st Oct), and the 4 day ticket includes a full-day workshop on the 28th Sep.

If the conference does not sell out in advance, ticket sales will remain open until Day 2 of the conference.

Your ticket includes access to conference sessions, keynotes, the Expo Hall, networking events, and on-site catering. Workshop access depends on the ticket purchased, plus additional events such as the Networking Night Event can be added on at checkout (subject to availability).

Yes. You can transfer your ticket, free of charge, up to 15 days before the conference.

All session submissions are reviewed by the European Microsoft Fabric + SQL Community Conference Programme Team, who select speakers and sessions based on quality, relevance, and balance. The aim is to create a diverse, engaging programme with a mix of technical and business topics, new and emerging ideas, and content for different experience levels.

Yes everybody is welcome to submit their session idea. You can submit to speak via Sessionize. 

Speakers cover a wide range of topics including Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Power BI, analytics, data engineering, AI, governance, security, and real-world implementation best practices.

Both! Sessions are delivered by a mix of Microsoft experts, Microsoft MVPs, community leaders, and industry professionals.

Speakers are responsible for uploading their slides. Once the speaker has uploaded them, they are viewable by the conference attendees only.

Yes. You can speak to speakers after their sessions if they have availability. Alternatively, another great option is to visit our Ask the Experts booth in the Expo where you can ask any speakers any questions you may have.
