European SharePoint Conference 2016
ESPC16 (then called the European SharePoint Conference) was held in Vienna, Austria from the 14 – 17th November 2016.
ESPC16 took place in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria and welcomed a vibrant international audience of Microsoft technology professionals, developers, business decision makers, and industry practitioners. The conference offered an engaging mix of keynotes, tutorials, and breakout sessions that explored the evolving world of SharePoint, Office 365, and the modern Microsoft cloud stack.
Attendees enjoyed three keynote sessions from leading Microsoft speakers focused on the future direction of SharePoint and Office 365, modern collaboration, and new customisation capabilities. The event also featured hands-on tutorials delivered by renowned experts which provided practical skills for IT Pros, Developers, and Business Users managing enterprise environments.
Across the main agenda, delegates could choose from a wide range of technical and strategic sessions that covered security, migration, user adoption, CRM and ERP integration, cloud infrastructure, hybrid deployments, records management, and productivity tooling across the Microsoft ecosystem. ESPC16 showcased the momentum of Microsoft’s cloud transformation and highlighted how organisations could leverage SharePoint and Office 365 to innovate, collaborate, and deliver business value.

ESPC 2016 Keynotes
ESPC16 keynotes were delivered by Dan Holme, Mike Ammerlaan, Chris McNulty Christian Buckley, Benjamin Niaulin and Paolo Pialorsi, exploring digital transformation, governance, user adoption and the evolving SharePoint development platform.
Future of SharePoint: Reinventing Content and Collaboration
In this keynote, Dan Holme and Mike Ammerlaan from Microsoft, joined by Chris McNulty, outlined Microsoft’s cloud-first vision for SharePoint and OneDrive. They covered modern collaboration experiences, intelligent intranet, mobile innovation and the SharePoint Framework to help organisations connect content, people and business processes.
Where Form Meets Function, Understanding Collaboration’s Cultural Fit
Christian Buckley and Benjamin Niaulin delivered this keynote on collaboration’s cultural fit, explaining how different teams work and how the right application of SharePoint, Exchange, Groups, Yammer and Skype for Business can drive engagement and business value. Their insight helped attendees understand practical collaboration choices within modern enterprises.
What is the Future of SharePoint Customisations?
This keynote focused on how SharePoint customisation is evolving in the cloud-first world. Paolo Pialorsi explained patterns, practices and the SharePoint Framework, showing how developers can build modern and sustainable extensions to deliver business value while aligning with Microsoft’s roadmap for SharePoint and Office 365.
